Multiple Cities of Sanctuary came together for an online screening of Hostile on Wednesday.
There were over a hundred attendees, who primarily watched the film from home before joining the online Q&A with Director Sonita Gale, hosted by Loraine Mponela who is a Lived Experience Ambassador for the City of Sanctuary and a poet.
The two unpacked Britain’s history, and the ways that the legacy of slavery and imperialism inform hostile immigration policies today, and discussed how the electorate’s voting decisions are standing in the way of progress.
