Director Sonita Gale was interviewed by Film Fest Report, the official partners of the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival, as the film makes its Australian Debut.
In the interview, Sonita discussed how the participants in the film helped her find the story of the hostile environment, and also the contradictory notion of feeling hopeful in the current moment, when things often seem to be heading in the wrong direction.
She also discussed the power of filmmaking as a medium to tell stories such as these, and its potential to change things.
