Refugee Week 2020 begins today, and we have five screenings lined up across the country to mark the occasion. Refugee Week, founded in 1998 and held every year around World Refugee Day on the 20 June, is a festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary in the UK.
We have spent the better part of this year raising awareness of the effects of the Hostile Environment in this country, and are proud to have the opportunity to continue doing so while at the same time showing our support for migrant communities.
We want to say thanks to all of the organisations that have screened the film since it debuted in cinemas in January, who have been instrumental in allowing these conversations about our immigration policies to flourish.
And of course, thanks to all the audience members who have come out to show support for the film, and contribute to these discussions.
If you haven’t seen the film yet, we hope to see you at one of the screenings this week, or in the near future.
