Last night Hostile screened at Stratford Picturehouse, followed by a Q&A with Maya Goodfellow, hosted by Ed Hughes.

The Q&A provoked some passionate questions from the audience, with people who had experience the Hostile Environment first-hand, and from those fighting against it.

Dr Maya Goodfellow is a writer and broadcast commentator. She is the author of Hostile Environment: How Immigrants Became Scapegoats and has contributed to a range of media outlets including the New York Times, the Guardian and the BBC. Maya Goodfellow is also a participant in Hostile and provides expert knowledge on how UK immigration policies have got to the point they are today.

Ed Hughes has established himself as one of the UK’s and Latin America’s most versatile actors, onstage and screen, in both English and Spanish. With a career that spans from film and television, to Classical, Modern and Musical Theatre. He is currently, alongside his acting career, a lecturer in acting and directing at the University of East London.
