One Small Step Show Interview “When audiences leave, they feel like they want to do something”

On Saturday July 2nd, director Sonita Gale was interviewed by Nick Labron on the One Small Step Show on Somer Valley FM, which is dedicated to ‘empowering voices and sharing stories’.

During the interview they discussed Hostile’s recent screening to a diverse audience at Glastonbury and the response to it. 

They also covered the challenges of making a film during the pandemic, and how incredible it is that the ‘hostile environment’ policies, which Sonita described as being all ‘about oppression and control’ are unknown to so much of the British Public. 

As Nick said, ‘it’s an embarrassment on our country to have these policies, and to not really be aware.’
