On Monday, October 24th director Sonita Gale was interviewed by Rima Ahmed on BBC Radio Leeds to discuss her film Hostile.

During the interview Sonita and Rima discussed the making of the film, and how it raises awareness about aspects of the Hostile Environment that most people in this country are unaware of, with Rima noting that “some of it just made me think very differently about immigration and what human people actually go through.”

During the interview, Sonita told listeners: “We want a society that is inclusive. We want a society where those that are suffering can get help. I want a society where the people that keep this country moving, which are the working classes, give them the benefits that they so deserve. And those people that are coming here, they’re here to build our country, not to tear our country down.
