On Friday, Director Sonita Gale attended the Windrush 75 concert at the Royal Albert Hall.

As we near June 22nd, the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the Empire Windrush, the evening was a great opportunity to celebrate the contributions of Caribbean culture to British society.

The evening was presented by Trevor Nelson, and featured an incredible lineup of performers including Craig David, Beverley Knight, Loose Ends, YolanDa Brown, Tobago Crusoe, Hak Baker, Salana Godden and Chineke! Orchestra, conducted by Chris Cameron.

Sonita was grateful to have built such close relationships when making Hostile, and spent the evening with friends she met during the process: Patrick Vernon, Natalie Barnes, Anthony Bryan and his wife Janet and friends.

The concert was broadcast on BBC Radio 2. If you missed the first one, tune in next Sunday 18th June at 8PM.

Hostile is screening in multiple locations across the UK in the run up to Windrush Day.
